What is Scientific Notation?
Scientific notation (also known as standard form) is a way of writing very large or very small numbers compactly. It is widely used by scientists, mathematicians, and engineers.
How it Works
A number is written as the product of two numbers: a coefficient (between 1 and 10) and 10 raised to a power.
Example: 5,000,000 is written as 5 × 106.
In digital systems (like Excel or calculators), this is often represented as "E notation" (e.g., 5e6).
